Postdoctoral/Research Positions (2)

A postdoctoral/research position is available immediately for an individual to conduct research on a advanced RO desalination.  The research work will involve evaluation of high recovery membrane desalting, antiscalant selection and dose optimization, diagnostic analysis of membrane mineral scaling, participation in the development of unique modular-mobile RO system for advanced desalination studies and process development and evaluation of novel high performance NF and RO membranes.  The position offers a unique opportunity to  interact with students, Faculty and industrial affiliates of the Water Technology Research Center.   
 
The qualifications for the position are described below:

Education: Ph.D. in Chemical, Civil, Materials Science/Chemistry or Mechanical Engineering or a field related to the areas of experience described below.

Experience:  development and/or working familiarity with filtration and membrane processes including reverse osmosis, knowledge of basic water chemistry and basic numerical and process analysis.  Familiarity with standard water quality instrumentation. Experience with process monitoring and control would also be an asset.

The University of California at Los Angeles (UCLA) is an exceptional research institution and an attractive and comfortable campus located in West Los Angeles.  The above position is for a minimum period of 1 year with the possibility for extension.  The salary is competitive and includes a medical insurance program.
